How It Works
Getting In Touch
It can feel like a daunting process but it’s my job to guide you through this journey. Whether that’s the beginning stages of preparing a service for a loved one or planning ahead for your own celebration of life. If you’ve already appointed a Funeral Director you can mention my name to them and they’ll put us in touch. Otherwise I can be contacted directly using this contact form.
Working Together
Once contacted by you or the funeral director, I will then be in touch with you to arrange a time and place for us to meet to discuss your loved one and the service you're planning. This usually takes place at your home or garden over a cup of tea, but an alternative venue can be arranged if you would feel more comfortable. We will talk about the person who has died; memories, funny moments, hobbies, family and friends. This we allow me to build up a picture of their life as they lived it, so that I can make sure they are truly reflected in the service. I understand that this can be an emotional journey and we can take all the time that you need.
Our meeting will also be an opportunity for us to talk through the practicalities of the ceremony from timings to number of guests. We can discuss choices of music, readings, reflections and details of those who may wish to speak at the service; something you might like to consider before we meet.
You might like some help writing or delivering the eulogy. That won't be a problem. We can chat about it all so that I understand exactly how you'd like the service to run.
Rest Assured
With all the information gathered from our time together I will then create the service. We will keep in touch throughout this process so that the final outcome is a ceremony that makes you feel that your loved one has been celebrated just as you wish. We can also work on the Order of Service together if that’s something that you require. I’ll guide you through the whole journey.
On The Day
On the day of the funeral or memorial, I will meet you at the venue before the service and we can have a moment to go over any questions or concerns that might have arisen. If you have appointed a Funeral Director they will be there too to provide guidance and support. I will then lead the ceremony as planned with the music, poems, readings, prayers or tributes that have been woven into the service. I'll be with you every step of the way.
